He then pursued his studies at MTS Sunanul Huda before enrolling at the Indonesian School in Singapore until his second year of senior high school. Later, he entered Darussalam Gontor as a Taksifi student. He went to Gontor because his father instructed him to study there, as he wanted Mr. Jazmi to strengthen his worship and connection with Allah.
During his teenage years, he lived in Bedok Court Avenue 3 in Singapore. There, he excelled in playing soccer, earning him the nickname “Ronaldinho” among his peers. Every day, he played soccer with his friends and usually brought only two dollars to school, which was equivalent to around five thousand rupiah in Indonesia, to buy street food. He often had small debts to local vendors. His father was also a dedicated educator, teaching pupils in the morning and lecturing university students in the afternoon or evening.

Many of the students there were from Nusa Tenggara. He dedicated several years to teaching, despite the difficult journey to reach the school. Eventually, he was called by the chief of Darul Ilmi Indonesia Boarding School, KH. Syamsul Arifin Nababan, to serve and teach there. Alhamdulillah, he accepted the invitation, although he arrived one semester late due to his father’s request for him to grow into a good and kind person.
